Hello New Year!

Well, I guess 2011 is here. I just got back from the most enjoyable visit to my parents house that I have had for years. It was a completely relaxing, stress free visit. I can't remember the last time that has happened. We celebrated New Years by playing games with the older kids and just visiting. We also celebrated Christmas with the folks. Although Mark pretty much won "the best gift of the year" award by giving Dad an autographed Husker football, Karri and I did win the "most useful" award by providing them a gift card to the bowling alley. As far as gifts go, Mom and Dad went down my Amazon wishlist and I received all kinds of goodies. A new British Army knife (way more heavy duty than the Swiss version), the Jesus Christ Superstar CD, some biker socks, an Amazon gift card, Husker floor mats....all in all a great haul. Dad, Mark, Dylan & I took Cole to a Husker basketball game as well. We sat as close to the floor as you could get and had a fantastic time. Cole was scared to death of Herbie Husker for a while until he snuck up on him and shook his hand. Then he wasn't quite as scary anymore. Before the handshake, Cole did spend a couple minutes trying to climb behind me and Dad to hide from Herbie. I chuckled.

I am not setting any personal goals for 2011. I just want to become a better husband, father, and person. Pretty much what I strive for all the time, so no reason to write that down. I do want to get skinnier and get my eating back under control. It is 9:30 right now, and I am starving. I guess a couple weeks of binge eating doesn't do well for my hunger pains. I can understand how I gained 13 pounds in two weeks. Funny when you look at it that way. This is how fat people stay fat.

So, welcome new year...I'm looking forward to some good times together.
